Are Novotel hotels really worth it in 2026?
I'm hesitating to book a Novotel for a weekend in Belgium. Given current prices, it's not bad but I don't want to pay for a three-star that's just basic stuff. Any recent feedback on the quality?

What kind of comfort do you actually need to really enjoy your weekend? Personally, I think Novotel is decent but don't expect anything magical!
The thing is, it really depends on the owner - some are spotless and others are frankly pretty basic like the other person said.
In Belgium specifically, I'd say you've got a good shot at having a decent experience since they're generally well-maintained, but honestly I'd check the recent reviews for that specific place before deciding rather than just relying on the chain in general!
It's true it's solid, I've slept in a few Novotel hotels when I was going to job sites and it's honest for the price - no nasty surprises, clean, comfortable, but look it's not like a charming little boutique hotel either.
If you're just looking for a decent place to sleep without breaking the bank, go for it, but if you want something authentic or really top-notch, you might want to look elsewhere.
