My boss is asking me to transfer to the Lyon branch even though I've been on a permanent contract in Paris for 5 years. It's not really a request, more like an ultimatum. I want to know if I have the right to refuse or if it could cost me my job?
Legally you can refuse a transfer, but it's your employer who decides whether that justifies firing you or not - it all depends on what's written in your contract and the terms of your geographical mobility.
