you can't just throw out a number like "200g is the right amount" because it really varies a lot - it depends on your metabolism, how active you are, your age, basically everything. what actually works to avoid belly fat isn't so much cutting carbs drastically, but more the total amount of calories and the quality of what you eat (white bread and refined pasta put on weight faster than complex carbs).

your personal trainer should've been more specific, but one thing that helps is gradually swapping things out - like switching white bread for whole wheat, reducing portions at lunch and dinner instead of cutting them out completely - and seeing if your belly goes down in 2 - 3 weeks. the truth is every body responds differently, so you'd need to keep testing and adjusting based on what you see happening.
