How much does a wedding cost on average in Brazil in 2026?

I'm planning my wedding for a year from now and I'm trying to figure out how much I need to save up. We want something simple, but I'm not sure if around 15 thousand reais is realistic or if I'm gonna need a lot more. Has anyone who got married recently got any idea for me?

15k is way too tight for a wedding with guests, even a simple one - most people I know who got married spent between 30 and 50k, depending on how many people they invite and whether they want a buffet or something more basic. If you're careful with money (ceremony with just close family, a backyard barbecue or a cheap rented venue) maybe you could pull off 20-25k, but then you'd have to cut corners in a lot of places.

It really depends on your style, but people are right - 15k is pretty tight honestly. When we're talking about a "simple" wedding in Brazil, you're looking good if it's like 20-30 people max, nothing too fancy. But then you're basically talking something really stripped down: basic venue, decent food but nothing gourmet, no professional photographer, DIY decorations... you can pull it off for that 👍

Now, if you want to invite like 50-80 guests (which is more normal), 30-50k is really what hits the mark. Buffet, drinks, venue rental, photography, printed invitations... it all adds up. A lot of people I know who got married recently are in that range, and sometimes they even go over it when details come up that you didn't account for like renting tablecloths, dishes or a decent DJ.

The tip is to start getting quotes from vendors now so you get a real sense of current prices. Buffet varies like crazy, and everything's more expensive in 2026 than it was 2-3 years ago. If you really want to save money, a little barbecue with your parents doing the cooking, a wedding outdoors at a farm or something like that can bring costs down. But if it's a "normal" wedding with mixed guests, better prepare your wallet! 💰
