How to choose a good fast charger for your phone?

I have a Samsung Galaxy A53 and the battery doesn't last the whole day. I was looking at fast chargers at Fnac but there are so many brands and different wattages that I don't know what to choose. Does anyone know which one is reliable and won't damage the battery?

if you think your phone can't make it through the day, yeah a fast charger helps but it's not a magic bullet. the Galaxy A53 supports up to 25W anyway, so there's no point spending more on something with 65W or 100W - it won't make any difference at all, you're just throwing money away. at Fnac you'll find Anker, Belkin and their own brand, all around 25W. the thing is: any of those work fine, what matters is having decent certification and not being one of those weird knockoffs from the Marketplace. Anker has a good reputation honestly, but Belkin hasn't let me down either.

now, about destroying the battery - a fast charger itself doesn't hurt anything if it's from a trustworthy brand. what actually kills it is your usage pattern: charging to 100% every night, letting your phone get too hot, stuff like that. i've got a tip nobody mentioned: use your phone while it's charging, seriously, run some light apps, do some stuff, because it keeps the device cooler than just sitting idle pulling power all at once. seems minor but the battery appreciates it.

if you really want to fix the problem of it not lasting the day, also check out Samsung's battery app - there are some apps running in the background that you don't even use. LinkedIn, Instagram, those garbage social networks drain way more battery than you'd think. turn off notifications, disable wifi/bluetooth when you're not using them, lower the brightness a bit. with a decent 25W charger (any known brand from Fnac works) and those basic tweaks you're sorted, i promise.

I understand the confusion because there's really a lot of stuff on the market 😅 First, check what's the maximum power your Galaxy A53 supports - basically that model handles up to 25W of fast charging, so there's no reason to spend more money on a 65W or 100W charger because your phone won't actually take advantage of it anyway. The thing is, after a certain wattage, the phone is smart and regulates the current, so you're just paying more for the packaging.

As for brands, I'd say go with Anker, Baseus or even original Samsung chargers if you find a good price - these brands have quality protections and certifications that actually matter. Fnac also sells decent Portuguese brands like Nuvem or even some generic ones that work fine, but always check if they have CE certification and make sure they're sold by sellers with good ratings. The important thing is to avoid completely weird brands that cost 3 euros because that's when you could have problems 😬

To not ruin your battery, avoid leaving your phone charging overnight - what really damages it is being near 100% for hours. A reliable 25W charger is enough and it's still fast. I've been using Anker for years on my stuff and never had any issues, honestly I'd recommend starting there if you find one at a good price!

What nobody's mentioning is that the A53's battery degrades way more if you're always charging it from 0 to 100 - sometimes it's better to just leave it plugged into a chill 25W charger than rushing around using max power every single day.

Grab one from Anker or Baseus, they're reliable, but what really matters is the habit: charge it when it hits around 20% and unplug it when it gets to 80% if you want your battery to last for years.

What they said above is true - the A53 handles 25W and there's no reason to go beyond that, you're just wasting money.

I had the same problem myself with the battery dying around 4 in the afternoon, and switching to a 25W original Samsung charger (grabbed it at Fnac) made quite a difference. What really matters is getting something with certification, like original Samsung, Anker or Belkin - these brands have overcharging protection, so the battery stays in good shape.

Pro tip: avoid those weird bazaar brands that cost €2, because then yeah, that's when you actually ruin the battery or worse, set your phone on fire 🙃

Basically the A53 can handle up to 25W, so you don't need to go beyond that - anything more powerful won't charge faster anyway. I'd say look for well-known brands like Anker, Belkin or Samsung itself because they're reliable and have warranty, and avoid those super cheap random brands from AliExpress that nobody knows.

What matters is that the charger has certification (look for "certified" or "original") and it's not high wattage that damages the battery, it's mainly keeping your phone constantly at 100% - so charge up to around 80-90% if you can and it already makes a difference.

I'm always charging mine during stops on the road and I'm more careful about this, and honestly a decent brand fast charger lasts years without problems.
