How to prevent hair from frizzing in humidity?

I live in a very humid area and my hair becomes a complete mess every time the sun comes out. I've already tried several products but nothing really works for me. Is there something that actually helps?

Oh, I totally get it because I live in a pretty humid area too and my hair is a mess! What works for me is using a good serum or oil before drying, like coconut or argan oil, but the important thing is that you apply it to the ends and not at the roots or it gets greasy. Also try drying your hair completely with a blow dryer instead of letting it air dry, and if you can, use an anti-frizz cream after you get wet, not during. The truth is it really depends on your hair type, but these products combined basically save my life almost every day, especially when I have to ride my bike and then I show up all sweaty lol.

Where I live it's also chaos with the humidity! Honestly, what's saved me is using a serum or light oil on the ends before going out, none of those heavy products that just make more frizz. It's also key that when you wash your hair you use a really generous conditioner (I'm obsessed with the moisturizing ones) and if you can, let it air dry instead of using a blow dryer because the heat makes everything worse. And well, if you really want total control, a flat iron works amazingly, though it's more work haha.

Humidity is tough to fight but some things work better than others. What's worked for me is using a good conditioner or serum with silicones (they seal the cuticle) and blow-drying your hair instead of air-drying it, because humidity penetrates less into hair that's already dry; plus, if you can, apply a heat protectant before using heat. Protein also helps quite a bit, so some shampoos or masks with keratin or silk protein make your hair stronger and help it resist humidity better, though honestly it's never gonna be perfect in a humid area like yours - it's more about keeping it manageable than expecting miracles.

Humidity is a pain but there are things that actually work. First thing is understanding that the problem is your hair absorbs moisture from the air and gets all frizzy. A good conditioner is essential, something that seals the cuticle properly. I use a decent one after every wash and the difference is noticeable. Also try not to dry your hair completely with the towel, leave it a bit damp before applying anti-frizz products. The sprays or serums made specifically for this work pretty well, especially the ones with silicones or natural oils. Apply it to the ends and mid-lengths, not the roots or everything gets greasy.

What really changed the game for me was starting to dry my hair with cold air at the end, that closes the cuticle and makes it repel moisture better. Plus, try not to wash your hair every day if you can, because you dry it out more. And being honest, sometimes it's genetics, so if nothing works completely don't freak out. There's people who just have to live with this and accept that in summer their hair does whatever it wants. But good brand anti-frizz sprays are gonna help you way more than whatever you tried before, for sure.
