I think awareness is possible but it really does require commitment, like planning a road trip instead of just driving around aimlessly. Maybe try setting daily time limits on apps, or at least designate some "phone-free" hours where you're actually present with yourself, without the compulsive scrolling. Algorithms are designed to keep you glued to your phone, it's true, but if you recognize that and act consciously - like deciding *when* and *why* you open those apps - it already makes a big difference. It's not about quitting completely, but about taking control instead of letting social media have it.

damn it's tough but not impossible, i fell into the trap myself until i decided to use them only for concrete stuff like following gardening and vegetable garden accounts 🌱 the real awareness comes when you realize you can choose what to follow and when to put them down, even though the algorithms do everything they can to keep you glued to the screen - maybe try setting yourself specific limits like max 1 hour a day, that's what i do between ambulance shifts to manage stress
