Is it worth buying a cordless jigsaw kit or better to buy the saw separately?

I'm in the middle of renovating my living room and need to make a couple of cutouts in particleboard. Everywhere I look now I see these cordless combo sets from Bosch and Makita, but I don't know if I really need all the parts or if I should just buy a good jigsaw on its own. What makes more sense price-wise?

For a one-time renovation, I'd recommend going with a single saw instead - the sets are really only worth it if you're planning to use different tools regularly and can get use out of the battery for other stuff anyway. If you just need to cut out notches in chipboard, a good jigsaw is completely sufficient and will save you money.
