Don't wait around for a PS6 that might not come out for years or could be super expensive when it does. The PS5 still has a huge library of games that are totally worth playing, the exclusives you want to play are probably still coming out for this generation, and if you grab one cheap right now you're getting years of entertainment for less money. If you're the type who needs to have the latest and greatest, then wait, but if you just want to play good stuff without breaking the bank, the PS5 is your move.

The thing is, nobody knows when the PS6 is coming out or how much it'll cost, so if you wait two or three years without playing anything new you're gonna regret it. But it's not like the PS5 is that cheap either - it's still a pretty big expense and most of the exclusives you want to play are already out there, so you could wait a bit longer if you're not dying to play something specific right now.

How many Sony exclusives do you want to play in the next 12-18 months? Because that's the key thing, not the rumors about when the next generation comes out. If there are three or four games you're dying to play, a second-hand PS5 (verified, obviously) is way cheaper than waiting two years without playing anything, and besides, when the PS6 drops the PS5 will be dirt cheap.

What most people don't mention is that you can stick a bigger SSD in the current PS5 - literally just a screw and plug it in - so you're not stuck with the original storage. It's a good way to keep it going longer without dropping money on a new console.
