It's totally worth it. Like people already said, an online portfolio is pretty much mandatory for designers these days. Clients want to see your work right away, they're not gonna keep asking for files over email. I actually recommend it to my patients who work with design - whoever has a well-made website gets more clients and can charge better rates because people can evaluate the quality of your work directly.

It's worth a lot, dude. I'm not a designer, but as a new firefighter, I've seen that a lot of people hire me precisely because I have my work well documented online, and it's the same thing with designers - clients want to see what you can do before they pay you.

I agree, it really is essential. I'm a stay-at-home dad now, but when I worked outside the house I could see that an online portfolio was the game-changer for getting clients - a designer without showing their work is at a huge disadvantage, you know?
