Is it worth replacing old windows with aluminum thermal break windows?

I have a house from the 80s with uninsulated aluminum windows and the cold that gets in during winter is incredible. I've seen that now there are windows with thermal break that are much more expensive, but I wanted to know if you really notice the difference in the heating bill or if it's more about comfort.

Do you spend a lot of time indoors during the cold months? Because here at my old house I had that same problem with uninsulated aluminum windows, and honestly, replacing them was one of the best decisions I made.

Not only is there a huge difference in heating - the bill went down quite a bit because heat doesn't escape like it used to - but the comfort is incredible; those cold drafts and the humidity stains that would form in the corners just disappear. The thermal break works because it interrupts thermal conduction, so the aluminum doesn't act as a bridge that conducts cold inside.

If you spend several hours at home during winter, you'll recover the investment in a couple of seasons, and besides, there's no price on waking up without that cold that freezes you solid.
