Is it worth taking a weekend theater course?
I'm curious about learning theater but I don't have much time during the week. Are there weekend theater courses that are actually worth it or is it just to kill time?

What are you hoping to get out of it - just to have fun or do you actually want to develop skills? Because the answer changes a lot. If it's just to explore and loosen up a bit, it's totally worth it, seriously - a weekend theater course is great for that, you meet people, get out of your routine, and even with just a few hours you pick up useful techniques for presence and communication that stick with you for life. Now if you want to actually get really good at it, a weekend-only course will be kind of limited, but at least you get started, see if you actually enjoy it, and then decide whether to invest more later.

I'm being honest - I started a weekend course two years ago mainly just to explore, but I ended up liking it so much that now I take regular classes. For me, that first step was really worth it.
