Nightcall was definitely his biggest claim to fame, but Kavinsky had a solid synthwave catalog before and after that peaked pretty high in certain circles. He put out the album Outrun in 2013 which got a lot of respect from electronic music heads, with tracks like "Protovision" and "First Blood" that had that same moody, retro-synth vibe. He wasn't exactly mainstream beyond Drive, but he built a real cult following in the synthwave community and kept releasing music steadily over the years - the kind of producer whose influence was bigger than his household name recognition.
