Disable the automatic notifications in your antivirus settings and let it update by itself in the background without bugging you every five minutes. Yeah, it's completely normal for it to ask for updates - that's what it should do - but it doesn't have to nag you about it like that every time.
Modern antivirus software receives definition updates every few hours, so constantly asking you to update is completely normal and necessary to detect new threats.
What you shouldn't do is disable those notifications entirely, because if the update fails silently without you noticing, you end up browsing with outdated protection without realizing it.
The best thing is to configure it to update automatically during off-peak hours (early morning, for example) so it doesn't bother you while you're working, but without completely ignoring the alerts.
