It really depends on what you're building, you know. If you want something that works on both iOS and Android with a single codebase, React Native and Flutter are the most mature options right now. React Native has the larger community and more jobs available, so if you're starting out professionally it might be safer. Flutter has been growing a lot and most people who use it think it's more stable with better performance, especially if you want to build something more demanding graphically.

If you have time to learn two different languages, going native with Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android is still the path that offers the best performance and integration with phone features. But then you're gonna spend way more time maintaining two codebases. For a startup or MVP, I think Flutter is gaining ground because the learning curve is lower and you can deliver something quickly that runs well on both platforms.

One more thing: what's your background? If you come from web development with JavaScript, React Native feels more natural. If you want something that's kind of language-agnostic, Flutter with Dart isn't that scary, it just looks different at first. The thing is, any of these choices will work in 2026, so it's really about which one you can learn and maintain better in the long run.
