Why does my perfume smell completely different after a few months?

I bought a bottle of Viktor & Rolf Bonbon last year and it smelled amazing at first. Now when I spray it, the scent is noticeably different - kind of duller and almost sour compared to how I remember it. Is this normal or did I store it wrong? I keep it in my bathroom cabinet away from direct light.
