Why does the iPhone 16 get so hot when charging with MagSafe?

I've had the iPhone 16 for three months now, and when I charge it with the 25W MagSafe charger, it gets pretty hot - almost too hot to touch. With the traditional USB-C cable it doesn't heat up as much. Is this normal or am I damaging the battery?

Don't charge it with MagSafe if it gets too hot - use the USB-C cable instead, it generates less heat and is gentler on the battery. Excessive heat degrades the cells over time, so if the 25W charger heats it up a lot, try a lower-wattage charger or just skip MagSafe for daily charging.
