Has there been any major change at home or at school recently? I don't think this is about discipline versus a psychologist, it's more about understanding what's actually going on!
Ten-year-olds need movement and stimulation, but it's also true that anxiety or ADHD can show up like this, and you can't fix that just with stricter limits.
What I'd do first is have a good talk with your son at home, without pushing, to listen if something's worrying him or boring him, and then yeah, get an evaluation from a specialist - not because there's a "problem" but because you need actual information, dude! Sometimes a child psychologist can tell in just two sessions if it's pure anxiety, lack of stimulation, or something more physical like concentration issues.
