The best time is the winter in the southern hemisphere, between June and August, when there's more snow in the Andes, especially in Chile and Argentina. We're talking about places like Valle Nevado and Las Leñas, which are really cool during that window.

Have you heard of low season in skiing? Well, June to August is really peak, but if you can go specifically in July, your chances of getting good snow are way better - I went once in August and got really dry days. The thing nobody talks about is that September starts the transition to spring skiing, so depending on where you want to go, it might not be as good as it sounds. If money's tight and you can only go in September, you can still make it work, but expect better snow in July for sure.
