My Hyundai HB20 is making a weird noise when I brake, like a squeaking sound. It happens every day when I leave in the morning, but then it goes away. Is this from worn brake pads or could it be something else? Do I need to take it to a mechanic urgently or can I drive normally?
If it's just early in the morning and then goes away, it could be normal moisture on the brake pad - that happens quite a bit with dew, especially on cold days. But if the squeaking becomes constant throughout the day or comes with a burning smell or pulling to one side when braking, then you definitely need to get it checked urgently, because it could be real wear or something wrong with your braking system.
