I've got a question: My rabbit has been living alone in the hutch for two years now, and I thought it might be good for him if I added a guinea pig. The two of them could keep each other company. But I'm not sure if they'd get along or if that would be problematic.
I wouldn't do it - rabbits and guinea pigs have different social structures and communication styles, so it just doesn't work. The rabbit could injure the guinea pig with its kicks, and on the flip side the guinea pig can stress out the rabbit because the two don't understand each other. If your rabbit needs companionship, a second rabbit would be the better solution - but you'd have to be careful with that too and introduce them to each other slowly.
