To be honest, I don't really know much about crypto - it's not my thing. I spend more time treating animals and planning routes across Russia than I do on financial instruments. But from what I see around me in 2026, things haven't really changed for the better. The volatility is still wild, and people lose money there regularly. If you've got funds that you can afford to lose without it messing up your life, then technically you could give it a try. But it's still gambling, not investing in the true sense of the word.

The main question is - why do you even need crypto? If it's speculation on price swings, then yeah, it's risky and probably not worth it. But if you're thinking about long-term value storage or diversifying your portfolio, then you need to dig into each specific project instead of just jumping on the hype wave. I've seen people lose decent amounts of money on the latest craze, and then end up in the red.

My advice: if you don't have enough understanding of how it works and time to track the market, don't mess with it. Find a consultant who knows their stuff, or just don't risk money that you actually need. That's how I treat my animals too - I don't risk their health on experiments when there are proven treatment methods.

Дмитрий Лебедев asker Yeah, agree - no point diving in without understanding it 😊 Speculation's not for me, honestly.

I don't really understand cryptocurrencies well, but I'll say that when my husband got interested in Bitcoin like three years ago, I tried to talk him out of it. Then he bought some anyway, and... well, right now he's in the plus, but that's more luck than smart planning. Yeah, the rates go up, but they drop sharply too, I've seen it myself in the news. If you have extra money that you're ready to lose without panicking, you can try with a small amount. But right now in 2026 crypto is still a volatile thing.

The main thing is, don't invest money that you need for living. Me, for example, I buy yarn and knitting needles for myself, that's definitely necessary. But crypto - yeah, you can take the risk, but understand that it's more like gambling than investing. If you're okay with the money just disappearing, then why not. Read the news, watch how the market moves, don't buy based on advice from random people on the internet.

So whether it's risky or not - it depends on how ready you are for losses. There's no safe way to get rich, unfortunately. If you want to sleep soundly, it's better to save the old-fashioned way or find stable work.
