The combo display can also just have a loose connector - that happened to me once, and I almost went crazy until I realized the plug on the back of the combo instrument wasn't sitting right. Before you mess around with any fuses, take a look at the back and see if anything's loose. If that doesn't help and the brightness control isn't the problem either, I'd head to the shop - could be a faulty display, and you won't be able to fix that yourself.

I wouldn't mess around with the fuses myself without checking the manual first - with modern cars you can easily do something wrong. It's probably a blown fuse for the instrument cluster (there's often a separate one for that), or the connection to the instrument cluster has contact issues. It could also be that the dimmer got accidentally turned all the way down - sounds silly, but it happens all the time. If the fuse is okay and the dimmer is too, I'd take it to the shop, because then it's more likely a short circuit or a faulty control module.

Your brightness control might also be turned down - check if there's a dial or slider for display brightness, it's usually on the left side of the steering wheel or on the instrument cluster itself, and it can accidentally get turned all the way down. If that doesn't help, there really is a specific fuse for the instrument cluster as the next thing to check, but before that I'd definitely look in the manual to see which one it is exactly - on your Qashqai you'll find the fuse box under the panel on the left below the steering wheel.
