Did Chainsaw Man part 2 turn out decent or was it a letdown?

I started watching the second part last week and I'm finding it pretty different from the first one. The animation quality dropped a lot compared to all that hype they had before, and the episodes feel slower. Do you guys think it's worth keeping up with or was it just a waste of time?

Are you keeping up with Denji's story in this arc or are you pretty lost? Because the thing is, the second part really shifted in tone compared to the first one. The production came from a different studio and with a more restrained visual approach, which for a lot of people was genuinely disappointing. The episodes became more focused on dialogue and character development, while the first part had that frantic action pace that had you on the edge of your seat.

Now, whether it's worth continuing really depends on what you enjoyed in the first season. If you were there just for the explosive action moments, well yeah, the second part's gonna frustrate you. But if you care about the characters and want to know where Denji's story goes, there are some plot twists in there that are worth it. The slow pacing is true, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's bad - some people think it gives more room to understand the characters' motivations and stuff.

My advice is to keep going for like 3 or 4 more episodes to see if it clicks with you or not. It's not like an anime you need to drop, but it's also not that "you gotta watch it all at once" urgency that the first part was. It really depends on whether you're feeling that more contemplative vibe or prefer pure adrenaline.

joao_souza asker I'm keeping up with it! I'm just missing that insane pacing, you know? I'll stick with it for like 4 more episodes to give it a real shot!

We definitely see a drop in the visual quality of part 2, that's a fact. But I'd say it depends on what you're expecting: if you're going in for action and special effects, you'll be disappointed. Now, if you can get into the slower pace and Denji's psychological narrative in this arc, there's actually a lot of interesting stuff going on behind the scenes. It's worth continuing, but with different expectations - it's not that pure action shounen from part 1.
