Do dog anti-pull harnesses and collars actually work?

I have a 2-year-old Labrador who pulls like crazy when she goes out, especially toward other dogs and people. I tried a choke collar but I don't like the idea of it. I was wondering if it's worth getting one of those no-pull collars like a Halti or Freedom, or if a harness would be better. Does anyone have experience with this?

No-pull collars like Halti actually do work, but honestly a three-point harness is way more comfortable for the dog and less of a hassle to manage! With a 2-year-old Labrador that pulls hard, the harness redirects the movement naturally without forcing the head - the dog still learns not to pull, it just takes a bit longer. If your dog pulls especially toward other dogs, there might be a behavioral issue too and you'd probably benefit from a few sessions with a trainer, but in the meantime the harness is the best compromise between effectiveness and the dog's welfare!
