I'm looking for something light and enjoyable to read during vacation. I really like stories that take place in France or abroad with nice characters. Not too long either, something like 300-400 pages max.
Try books by Katherine Pancol or Marc Levy, they're perfect for summer - sweet stories that often take place in France or Europe, never too long and honestly they make you happy! Personally, between taxi rides to do errands, I read "The Last of the Stanfields" by Levy and I loved it, it was exactly what I needed to decompress.
I wouldn't go looking for anything too heavy with complex plots - it kills the vacation vibe. I read "The Finkel Files" by Michael Finkel last July and it was perfect for unwinding on the terrace, a smooth story that jumps between different countries without taxing your brain. If you like that kind of light but not dumbed-down stuff, check out authors who play on that bittersweet nostalgia and nice settings, you'll definitely find something you like.
