It's not that a gluten-free diet doesn't work, but it's not a magic wand either if you don't have celiac disease. Most people who aren't celiac don't notice any real difference in weight or energy when they cut out gluten, though some say they feel less bloated. If what you're after is losing weight or feeling better, it's probably more effective to just eat less processed food and more vegetables, with or without gluten. Going gluten-free is really only justified if you actually have the disease or a diagnosed sensitivity.
