Does anyone else get bored with the romance novels that get recommended on TikTok?

It's not that everyone gets bored, but there's definitely a lot of people who feel exactly like you do about those books. The thing is BookTok has its own bubble and promotes certain patterns over and over, so it ends up seeming like everyone's reading the same thing. But that doesn't mean it's bad if it doesn't grab you, not at all.

I'd say it's not so much boredom as it is oversaturation with the same formulas. BookTok pushes a very specific type of novel, and when you read three of them back-to-back you realize they're basically the same book with different names, which kills any sense of surprise. The thing is, those books just might not click with you, and that's totally fine - there are thousands of genres and styles out there where you'll actually find something that grabs you from chapter one.
