Does life feel meaningless when you're constantly comparing yourself to others online?

DE Dennis69 CA 🌱 Newbie 👁 75 ⚑ Report Meaning of Life

I spend like 3-4 hours a day scrolling through Instagram and TikTok, and I keep seeing people my age who are already entrepreneurs, traveling the world, or crushing it in their careers. Meanwhile I'm just going through the motions at my job. How do you find meaning in your own life when you're constantly exposed to everyone else's highlight reel?

The comparison trap is real, and honestly those highlight reels are just edited snapshots - nobody posts the failed deals, the boring hotel days, or the job they quit after two weeks. You're measuring your behind-the-scenes against everyone else's front-stage, which will always feel off. Cutting back those hours (even to an hour a day) makes a huge difference in how you see your own progress; meaning comes from what actually matters to *you*, not from what the algorithm decided to show you today.
