Really depends on what you're trying to get out of it. If you need social media for work - because you're an influencer, artist, or work in marketing - that's a completely different situation than just using it privately. For a lot of people, life without Instagram, TikTok and all that works absolutely fine. You might miss out on a few memes and have to let your friends know about stuff differently, but that's not exactly a threat to your existence.

On the other hand, social networks have actually become part of a lot of different areas of life - professional contacts, event announcements, groups for shared interests. Some friendships basically only work through these channels these days. But that doesn't mean you have to be online 24/7 or jump on every trend. It's more about using them consciously instead of just letting yourself drift.

Honestly? A lot of people are happier when they deliberately take a step back - not completely gone, just with clear boundaries. Instead of asking yourself "does it make sense or not," maybe think more along the lines of: which platforms do I actually need, and how much time do I want to spend on them? That's probably more realistic than getting rid of everything.

don't try to act like social media is the meaning of life 😄 sure, you need it today for some contacts and info but there are tons of people who are way more satisfied without it because they're not constantly stuck in that comparison trap. your life has meaning because you have relationships that matter to you, you pursue real hobbies and do things that bring you joy - whether you share that on instagram is completely irrelevant and honestly really unimportant.
