Remove the heating element and clean it thoroughly with white vinegar, because accumulated residue makes it overheat too much - that's the most common issue with this model. If it keeps burning after you clean it, then the thermostat is actually faulty and you'll need to replace it, but most of the time it's just dirt. If you'd rather not mess with the heating element, take it to an authorized service center - Mondial has them and it costs less than you'd think.
