How do I choose the best wall finish?
I'm renovating my apartment and I'm torn between regular paint, textured finish, and wallpaper. Which one is easier to keep clean? And which one lasts longer before needing touch-ups?

Plain paint is by far the most practical for maintenance and durability. You can clean it with a damp cloth, use a mild detergent, and it looks brand new again. Texture and wallpaper are dust and dirt traps - especially in an apartment where more people move around and the air carries more particles. With texture you'll have a hard time cleaning without damaging it, and wallpaper... don't even think about wiping it down without ruining it. Plain paint easily holds up for about 5 to 7 years before needing real touch-ups, depending on the paint quality and exposure to light and moisture.
If you want something with more visual personality, texture has its charm - it hides small wall imperfections and adds dimension. But the durability is pretty similar to paint, maybe a bit less because of that dirt buildup issue. The truth is that no option is "better" in an absolute sense - it really depends on what you're actually able to keep up with. Regular paint is genuinely easy to clean, but if you go with a very light or very dark color, every stain shows up and you'll want to touch it up every other week, whereas textures and wallpapers (even though they're more annoying to clean) hide imperfections better and can easily last 5-7 years before you need to redo them.
