How do I get an electronic passport for flights?
I heard you can now fly with an electronic passport instead of a paper one. Does that actually work for international flights? And where do I go to get one?

An electronic passport is indeed recognized for flights, but it doesn't work the same way everywhere. For international flights, you need a biometric passport (with a chip), and you can present it electronically through the government services app or the passport mobile app. However, many airports and airlines still require the original paper copy, especially when traveling abroad - this depends on your destination country and customs requirements.
You need to apply for it at an interior ministry office, just like a regular biometric passport. If you already have a biometric passport, the electronic version will automatically appear in the government services app or in the passport mobile app (if you download it). You can't completely ditch the paper passport for international trips just yet - keep it with you as a backup. Before your flight, check with your airline to see if they'll accept an electronic passport for your route so you don't run into problems at the airport.
