How do I remove chromatic aberration in Photoshop?

Michael GB 🔍 Enthusiast 👁 87 ⚑ Report Photo Editing

I've been shooting with my older Canon DSLR and I'm noticing purple and green fringing on high-contrast edges in my photos. It's especially noticeable on architectural shots. Is there a quick way to fix this in Photoshop, or should I be using a different tool like Lightroom or Capture One?

Photoshop has a lens correction filter under Filter > Lens Correction where you can dial in the chromatic aberration sliders for each color channel, but honestly Lightroom or Capture One handle it more elegantly with automatic detection. If you're shooting a lot of architectural work with that older Canon, fixing it in post is fine, though stopping down your aperture a bit during shoots can help reduce fringing in the first place.
