Have you tried taking it to a repair shop or are you really wanting to do this at home? If you're going to do it at home, you'll need a kit with specific tools (pentalobe screwdriver, suction cup, spudger), a lot of patience, and a tutorial video right next to you, because the iPhone 6s has really tiny screws and the screen is glued down with adhesive - one mistake and you'll damage the screen or the connectors. Honestly, it's safer to just send it to a technician, especially since an iPhone 6s battery is pretty cheap anyway.

I've already tried it once and messed up the screen. I'm taking it to a technician this time - it's safer that way.
The annoying part is getting the screen off without breaking the glass - the battery itself is easy to swap after that. The big risk nobody mentions: if you damage the home button or display connectors while opening it, it'll cost you more to fix than just going straight to an Apple Store.
