How do I stop panicking when I see disease symptoms online?

I've been constantly googling my symptoms for the last few months, and any slight cough or chest pain turns into a catastrophe in my head. I read articles about different diseases and start thinking I definitely have something serious. How do I break this habit of searching for diagnoses online?

Have you ever actually seen a doctor properly, or do you just search for everything online? The main thing is to stop yourself from googling symptoms - it's a vicious cycle: you read about a disease, start paying attention to it, and the symptoms "appear" more strongly. Just write down what you're feeling and show it to a doctor - a professional will figure it out in two minutes instead of you sitting in front of the internet for three hours. And yeah, delete the search app from your second home screen or just make it harder for yourself to access when you're anxious - sometimes you just won't bother if it takes effort.
