Are they heating consistently or do you notice cold spots? Baseboard heaters typically run 15-20 years if they're well-maintained and not abused, so yours at 18 years are getting into the later half of their lifespan. If they're still working smoothly without any weird noises or dead zones, you're probably fine for another few years, but I'd start thinking about a replacement plan since you're past the midpoint. Keep an eye out for any units that cycle on and off weirdly or don't heat as well as they used to - that's usually the first sign they're wearing out.

storm_sarah asker They heat evenly with no cold spots and run quietly. No weird cycling either.
