I'm thinking about buying a Tesla Model 3 and I'd like to know how much I'd end up spending per month on electricity. Can anyone give me a realistic idea of the costs? I have a garage at home where I can install a charger.
The bill depends a lot on your electricity rate, but roughly speaking a Model 3 consumes about 15-18 kWh per 100 km, so if you charge at home with a standard rate you'll be paying between 3 to 5 euros per 100 km. If you drive about 1500 km a month, we're talking 45 to 75 euros monthly, but this varies quite a bit depending on your contract with EDP, Lusitânia or whoever. It's worth installing a charger at home because it's much cheaper than using the public ones around the country, and you can also take advantage of night rates if your company offers them.
