In summer you probably need to feed your starter every day or even twice a day, because the heat speeds up fermentation. I notice that pretty clearly at home - when it's hot, the starter gets way more active and hungry faster. Best thing is to watch how quickly it rises after feeding; if it's already at its peak again within 4-6 hours, then feeding it daily is right for you. Some people also keep it in a cooler basement, then every other day is enough.
