I have money in a savings account that's not giving me any returns

Years ago I opened a savings account at Banco de España and it's just been sitting there. The interest has been pretty much 0% for years now. I've got about 5,000 euros saved up and I'm not sure if I should put it all into fixed-term deposits or look for something else that actually gives me some return.

With those 5,000 euros basically just sitting there, fixed-term deposits are the safest bet if you want something guaranteed - check the current rates because they vary quite a bit between banks, some offer considerably better terms than others. If you're up for a bit more risk and don't need the money soon, you can put part of it into investment funds or ETFs, which historically give better returns over the long term, though obviously you've got volatility in between. What definitely doesn't make sense is leaving it all there doing nothing because inflation is eating away at your savings, so move it even if it's just to deposits if that's what lets you sleep at night.
