I'm renovating my bathroom and need to hang tiles and shelves. I've got an old bubble level that's served me well, but I'm seeing laser levels that are pretty affordable now at Leroy Merlin. Is it actually better for home projects or is it a waste of money?
A bubble level works perfectly fine for tiles and shelves if you're careful and don't mind taking a bit longer to get things adjusted. A laser really shines when you need to align a bunch of stuff at once or you're working in large spaces, but for a bathroom with a couple of shelves it's honestly overkill. If you already have the bubble level and it works, save yourself the euros; if you lose it or it breaks, then yeah consider it, but in the meantime stick with what you've got.
