I've been playing in my neighborhood for years with some Adidas boots from 3 years ago that are basically falling apart. I saw that my teammates use the new Predators or Phantoms and say they play better, but they cost a ton of money. Does it really make that much of a difference in your game or is it mostly just the brand?
Expensive boots do improve comfort and passing precision a bit, but the actual difference isn't as big as you think. Most of the improvement comes from them being new, the material being better, and you feeling more confident psychologically, but your teammates would play pretty much the same in decent name-brand ones at half the price. If your Adidas are already worn out and you need new boots, it's worth spending a bit more on something mid-to-high range that'll last you years, but don't expect to suddenly play like Mbappé.
