Yes, absolutely it's worth it if you have a concrete motivation - whether that's work, a relationship, or simply the desire to read German literature without translations. Adults often learn more slowly than children do, but with more discipline and strategic awareness, so you can optimize your time better. The only thing is understanding whether you're willing to invest a few months of regular study or if you're looking for results that are too quick - what's your main goal with the language?

I didn't learn it as an adult, but I've seen people start studying it seriously even after their 40s or 50s and reach a decent level in a couple of years. The difference compared to kids is that adults are more disciplined and know what they want, so if there's a real reason behind it (a German partner, a move, curiosity about the culture) German becomes a manageable language. Without genuine motivation though it stays a pain and you'll drop it after three months.
