The best thing is to start with an app like Duolingo or Babbel that teaches you the basics gradually without you having to think too much about it. Once you pick up some vocabulary and pronunciation, look for content that actually interests you - TV shows, music, YouTube videos - because learning just from boring lessons doesn't work. Is there something specific you want to do in French, like travel, watch movies, or just speak it with someone?

flores95 asker Mainly watching French movies and TV shows, honestly. I love French cinema so that's my best motivation.

If you want to speak from day one without waiting months, find someone online (there are free communities or language exchanges) and do even just 15 minutes of basic conversation like "hi, how are you, where are you from" - sounds weird but your brain learns way faster when it has to fend for itself by speaking than by repeating random words in an app. After that, sure, apps for vocab work fine, but a lot of people get stuck just studying that way and never actually try to put together real sentences with another person.
