I'm booking a hotel in Austria soon for a week and everywhere I'm being offered this travel insurance. It costs about €15 extra per night. Does that make sense or is it just the hotels trying to make a quick buck?
For a week I'd rather skip it, unless you're booking a super expensive hotel. 105€ for seven nights is quite a lot when you can just cancel normally or report yourself sick - that's usually free. It makes more sense for longer trips or if you're booking really last-minute and the cancellation terms are strict. Just check how flexible your booking already is, then you probably don't need anything extra.
