Suburban foraging is totally doable if you know where to look - I've found wild edibles in the margins most people ignore, like unmowed areas along utility lines, the edges of parking lots, and creek beds that wind through developments. The key is scouting your own neighborhood first: parks, nature preserves, even neglected corners of commercial zones often have edible plants like dandelions, wild garlic, or berry bushes. Mushrooms are trickier and honestly more dangerous to forage without expertise, so stick with plants you can positively identify, or better yet, find a local foraging group that does walks in your area - they know exactly where the good spots are and can teach you what's actually safe to eat.
