I'm currently renovating my bathroom and need to drill a lot into tiles and concrete. I looked at the new Makita DP4013, but the DeWalt DCD777C2 is cheaper. Which one lasts longer and has more power for heavy-duty work?
The DP4013 and the DCD777C2 are in different weight classes - the Makita is much better suited for your work. The DeWalt is more of an entry-level model for lighter tasks, whereas the Makita scores with more impact power and better drilling performance in concrete and tile. With tile and concrete you just need more power, otherwise you'll waste time and the battery suffers more.
As for durability: Makita batteries generally last longer and retain their capacity better - you'll notice that clearly after a season. The DeWalt is cheaper, but if you drill more often and do heavy work, you'll pay for it later with faster degrading batteries and longer working times. For a bathroom renovation with a lot of tile work, I'd go for the Makita - the extra few euros are a good investment here.
For tiles and concrete, I'd go with the Makita, even though the DeWalt is cheaper 💪 I've already dealt with cheaper drills and ended up spending more money on new batteries and repairs than if I'd just bought something decent in the first place. The DP4013 just has more torque and lasts longer when you really need to work hard - you notice it when you're drilling holes in concrete all day. The DeWalt is really more for occasional DIY jobs, not intensive renovations.
