Motorcycle chain maintenance: how many km between services?
I've had a Kawasaki Ninja 400 for 6 months and I'm not really sure how to properly maintain the chain. What's the normal frequency for cleaning and lubricating it?

For your Ninja 400, you should clean and grease your chain every 1000 km or so, or at least once a month if you don't ride much. Honestly it's not complicated, you just gotta check that it's not too dry or gunked up, and use a proper motorcycle chain lube (not just any random stuff). Also check your chain tension while you're at it, it should have a bit of slack of a few centimeters when you move it by hand - that's just as important as lubricating it so you don't wear it out prematurely.
I do it every 500-1000 km or at least once a month, it really depends on how you ride and what kind of conditions you're in. A well-maintained chain is like the joints on a weld, you can't neglect it or it'll mess up everything else.
