You're absolutely right to be upset - during the warranty period, replacement of parts due to manufacturing defects should be free of charge. Demand a written explanation for why they're charging you: they might be trying to blame it on mechanical damage or claim the warranty was voided for some reason. If their claim is unfounded, file a complaint with the service center's management or contact the manufacturer directly - they have an interest in making sure their authorized centers don't operate this way.

It's not really a question of whether you should be upset, but rather how to be upset properly. Ask them for an official invoice or estimate on paper - right there at the service center, don't walk away - with the reason for payment and the fault code clearly stated. Then take a screenshot, send it to the manufacturer's support with a complaint: the service center might only be authorized in name, but the manufacturer usually responds quickly to stuff like this because it damages their reputation.
