Should I be worried about flying out of Sydney right now?

There's been a near-miss between two planes at Sydney airport, and now there's talk about not having enough air traffic controllers on staff. A Jetstar and Qatar Airways plane got way too close to each other. The airport's saying they don't have enough people controlling traffic. Might make people think twice about whether it's safe to fly through there at the moment.

Near-misses at major airports do happen, but they're caught by multiple safety systems working exactly as designed - the fact that the planes didn't collide means the system worked. Staffing issues are real and worth monitoring, but Sydney's still one of the world's busier airports with established procedures, so I wouldn't let this alone change my travel plans.
